Joan Collins frightened` by plastic surgery
Joan Collins would never have cosmetic surgery because it "frightens" her.
The 77-year-old actress has hardly any wrinkles on her extremely well-preserved face, but vehemently denies going under the knife. Instead, she insists her youthful looks are the result of"discipline", portion control and good genes, and not cosmeticprocedures.
"Cosmetic surgery frightens me," theveteran actress said. "Botox, I think, ispoison, I would never put it into my face, and I`m needle-phobic.
"I spend a lot of time keeping my face out ofthe sun and taking care of my skin and wearing make-up. The secret isdiscipline, certainly, and portion control, though I do have indulgences.
"I was also given a very good set of genes, so Idecided I was going to do the best I could to make the best of them for as longas I could."
Joan shot to fame when she starred in US soapDynasty in the 1980s. She started acting when she was 18, and has had anextremely long and successful career.
Looking back, she is proud of what she has achieved, and is very glad she isn`t starting out her career today, as actressesare expected to be so thin.
"I`m not a fan of that look, are you? In Hollywood, thegirls are forced by the studios to look extremely thin," she told Britishnewspaper The Daily Telegraph. "When I first went to Hollywood years and years ago,I was nine stone and they made me go down to eight and a half. Now, eight and ahalf stone is considered fat.
"I really don`t care what actresses looklike, I`m only interested in the movie or the play. But I feel sorry forthose who have to live on a lettuce leaf and a cucumber slice." >
